Make sure you keep a notation/TAB notebook where you keep a clean notated/Tabbed copy of all the licks/riffs/ideas you get when you are practicing and improvising.
I still have mine (from as long as 20 years ago) and often look at them to see if I had any cool licks – and i often find some and use them in my current playing!
